The ancient town
CIVIC TOWER
The prismatic Civic Tower (XIII Century) holds the remains of some stone coats of arms, and also fresco traces commissioned to Luca Signorelli by the Priors in 1474. It is a symbol of Communal Power (used also as a jail) and the tower is known as "Torre del Vescovo" (Bishop's tower), because it joins Bishop's Palace (rebuilt many times until its actual seventeenth century shape).
You can visit the top of the Tower from which you can see an incomparable view of the historical centre, the verdant Montesca hill and the whole Upper Tiber Valley.
