The Fondazione Palazzo Albizzini "Collezione Burri", instituted in 1978 by the painter himself, is the only complete collection of the most significant works by the artist, who was one of the most representative in the contemporary art scene.
The Collection is housed in two museums. Palazzo Albizzini, an elegant Renaissance mansion of the second half of the XV century, houses in twenty rooms a rich anthology of works by Alberto Burri produced between 1948 and 1989, including paintings, sculptures, graphic works, maquettes for theatres and theatre scenes.
The Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco, opened in 1990, completes the anthology. In 7,500 square meters it houses big cycles and sculptures produced between 1970 and 1993. 
A total of 257 works by Alberto Burri can be seen in the two museums.
